About Krista

I am an intuitive artist and painting is how I process the world. It is not meant to be realistic or "perfect" - it is done solely based on emotion and how I perceive and feel about the world.

My work is characterized by bright colours, bold lines and strong brush strokes. I am drawn to certain themes - particularly nature, religion (women in religion) and people/figures.

I enter each piece of art without a theme or specific image in mind. Each painting begins with putting paint on canvas or paper. It is only after several layers of colours and lines that a theme will emerge; and the painting develops from there. It is very rare that I will paint with the end result in mind.
